Here is a roundup of my favorite Christian parenting books! Parenting is tough and so hard to navigate at times. These books have provided encouragement, a framework for parenting, and practical help for me as a mom.
Raising Emotionally Strong Boys By David Thomas: David Thomas is part of a counseling center in Nashville for youth and is a wealth of knowledge on boys. Anything he and Sissy Goff write is always on my "must read list." This book just came out this week, and I am currently reading it. If you are looking for a practical and applicable book for raising boys, add this to your list!
Parenting: The 14 Gospel Principles that Can Radically Change your Family By Paul David Tripp: This book is one of my all time favorite parenting books. It isn't a book that gives you steps on how to raise kids, but rather is a big picture view of God's plan for parenting. It gets to the heart of parenting in ways I've never seen another book accomplish.
Raising Worry-Free Girls By Sissy Goff: As someone that struggles with anxiety, this book was not only helpful to me as a parent but also personally. Sissy gives practical ideas that work to help us help our kids battle anxiety. I wish I would have had this book growing up! I also found that this book can be easily applied to boys as well.
Risen Motherhood by Emily Jensen and Laura Wifler: I have given this book to so many moms because it is that big of an encouragement. This book first gives a big-picture view of motherhood through the framework of the gospel. Then, it applies this view to the everyday moments of motherhood (ie: schooling choices, transitions, marriage etc.) Risen Motherhood has really shifted my perspective on motherhood and helped me see the gospel in all aspects of what God has called me to as a mom.
Wild things: The Art of Raising Boys by Stephen James and David Thomas: Another David Thomas read that I highly recommend! This book helped me understand the ways boys are wired with it's sections on the mind and heart of the boy. It also offered wisdom on hot topics that I found really helpful (ie: ADD, discipline, screen time etc).
